I keep complaining on other social media about how no one ever posts on Dreamwidth, and then I'm barely here myself. Time to be the change I want to see :')

I've been doing well, mostly. The year started out pretty dramatically. I had Covid in February, had a rough first three days and then had to go to the hospital because I suddenly lost consciousness and stopped breathing for a few minutes. We soon found out that was a tonic-clonic seizure and I apparently have a genetic predisposition to epileptic seizures, especially febrile seizures. I had no idea! My mother told me I actually had a few of those as a child, but the doctors said they're not uncommon for young children to have and it didn't have to mean anything. Looks like in my case, it did.

I got a bit better, then felt worse again before I finally recovered completely. No long-term complications, thankfully. I would've liked to keep the deep voice, though! According to the voice apps I use, testosterone has lowered my normal speaking voice to around 115hz, sometimes higher, sometimes lower depending on the day. Covid brought it down all the way to 92hz! Then it went back up, alas.

In August, I finally had my top surgery. There was a complication, so I needed to be operated again, but by now I'm feeling great. What a huge relief, both mentally and physically - I had F cups. I've been able to write much more and much better ever since, too. With my main source of dysphoria gone, my brain can finally funnel all that energy into being creative! My drawings skills have also improved a lot, but I think that's more to do with good old practice finally paying off.

So that's been my year so far. Now? I'm looking forward to 1899, the new show by the creators of Dark, which airs on November 17th. I already feel confident it's going to become one of my favorite shows. After Dark, I'd trust Jantje and Bo's storytelling skills with my life. I'm also going to try NaNoWriMo again this year. Not necessarily aiming for the 50k this time - just hoping to finish at least one fic, preferably several. I'm still not sure which one to begin with, though. There's my Damon Gant backstory WIP that for some reason is incredibly tedious to make progress on that could really use the NaNo momentum ... but there's also the "Dark Brotherhood questline but from Commander Maro's PoV" fic I've been wanting to write for two years and never got around to. I don't know. Maybe I'm going to end up writing something completely different, too. We'll have to see.

Oh - and I'm going to post here more. Again, be the change I want to see and all that. :D
